George Lucas’s Willow movie is being adapted into a TV series for Disney+, movie director Ron Howard has revealed. According to Howard, the sequel TV show” would focus a lot on Elora Danan” but Willow will significantly still be involved.”
“We’re in discussions about developing a Willow television show for the Disney+. And I think it’d be a great way to go. In fact, George always talked about the possibility of a Willow series, and it’d be great and more intimate, and built around that character and some of the others. And Jon Kasdan has, I think, an inspired take on it and it could be really, really cool,” Howard revealed during his appearance at Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Directed by Howard, Willow was released in 1988. George Lucas produced and wrote the original story. The fantasy film featured Warwick Davis, Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, Jean Marsh, and Billy Barty.
