It’s the end of the world in the new Watchmen teaser trailer. HBO’s TV show adaptation of the Watchmen is a modern-day reimagining of Alan Moore’s groundbreaking graphic novel. Created by Damon Lindelöf, Watchmen original series is set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws.

Watchmen was created by writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons, and colorist John Higgins. The limited series comic-book was published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987. A live-action film adaptation directed by Zack Snyder was released in 2009. A video game series, Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, was also released the same years as the Watchmen live-action film.

Watchmen is set to debut on HBO in 2019. The TV series stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, and Dylan Schombing. The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on characters from DC.
