Watchmen: HBO announces the show’s release date.

HBO has finally announced the released date for the upcoming television series adaptation of Watchmen. The show based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ popular comic-book will start airing on October 20.

The announcement by the official Watchmen Twitter account, who posted a short video of a ticking clock with a tweet that reads, “Everything Begins.”

Watchmen was created by writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons, and colorist John Higgins. The limited series comic-book was published by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987. A live-action film adaptation directed by Zack Snyder was released in 2009. A video game series, Watchmen: The End Is Nigh, was also released the same years as the Watchmen live-action film.

HBO’s Watchmen series includes Jeremy Irons an older Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias, Tim Blake Nelson as Looking Glass, Jean Smart as FBI Agent Blake, and Dustin Ingram as Agent Petey. Regina King, Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, James Wolk, and Hong Chau.
