Voltron: Legendary Defender 5th Season gets Release Date.

The official Instagram account for Voltron: Legendary Defender animated series has revealed that the show’s fifth season will premiere on Netflix on March 2.

The 13 episodes animated series is a production of Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra). Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, and Tim Hedrick serves as the show executive producers. The 4th season of Voltron: Legendary Defender premiered on Netflix on October 13.

The first season of Voltron, featuring the “Lion Force Voltron”, was adapted from the Japanese anime television series Beast King GoLion. The second season, featuring the “Vehicle Team Voltron”, was adapted from the unrelated anime series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. World Events Productions and Toei Animation’s original television series aired in syndication from September 10, 1984 to November 18, 1985.

The Netflix reboot follows five Earth teenagers — Keith, Lance, Hunk, Pidge and Shiro — who become the last line of defense for Arus and other planets in an intergalactic battle against the evil alien force led by King Zarkon.

Voltron: Legendary Defender stars Tyler Labine as Hunk, Jeremy Shada as Lance, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Pidge, Kimberly Brooks as Allura, Rhys Darby as Coran, Josh Keaton as Shiro, Steven Yeun as Keith and Neil Kaplan as Emperor Zarkon.
