The second season of Vinland Saga anime series has officially been announced. The announcement made was in the “Vinland Saga 2nd Anniversary Memorial Movie” video post on YouTube on Wednesday. Additionally, it was also revealed that both director Shūhei Yabuta and character designer Takahiko Abiru are returning for the second season. This is not a surprise, as Yabuta teased September last year that Vinland Saga season 2 had been green-lit.
The key visual for the series’ second was also unveiled. Vinland Saga manga series creator, Makoto Yukimura, director Shūhei Yabuta, and chief animation director/character designer Takahiko Abiru drew illustrations to commemorate the announcement (see below). Vinland Saga season 2 has no release date yet. However, it is likely the anime series will be released in 2022.
Vinland Saga anime’s first season began airing on July 7. The show is listed for 24-episodes in total. The anime show first three episodes streamed on the same day exclusively on Amazon Prime. Yukimura serialized Vinland manga in Japan in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2005. The series has more than 5 million copies in print.
