Black Panther actor Andy Serkis has signed a deal with Sony Pictures to direct Tom Hardy’s Venom sequel. Serkis who also directed Breathe and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle made the announcement on Twitter. He also served as the second unit director on The Hobbit trilogy.

So far not much is known about the Venom expect the fact that Tom Hardy will return to reprise his role as Eddie Brock and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Venom 2 script is written by Kelly Marcel.
Serkis is best known for his motion-capture performance for Gollum in LOTR, Caesar in Planet of the Apes and Snoke in The Last Jedi. He also appeared as Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther.
