Now that Star Wars Resistance and Star Wars- The Clone Wars have both announced their final season, Lucasfilm Animation head Dave Filoni has revealed that more animated projects based on the Star Wars franchise are being developed. Filoni made the reveal in a recent interview with IGN.
“I love that people love the characters, and it’s not like some of them can’t go on. I’m sure that there are more stories. I don’t know that I’d call them Clone Wars stories, but I think there are things in the vein of Clone Wars in animation that we’re always going to be doing. Everybody knows that value of that storytelling that Lucasfilm Animation does and the talented team of people that are there.”
It was announced two weeks ago that Star Wars Resistance second and final season start broadcast on Sunday, October 6 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT. The show will take place during the events of “The Last Jedi” leading up to “The Rise of Skywalker”. Star Wars: The Clone Wars seven and season final season will premiere on Disney+ when the service launches Nov. 12. The series is set between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The first CGI-animated series Star Wars Rebels aired in Disney XD from 2014 to 2018. The show tells the story of rebels as they fight the Galactic Empire in the years leading up to A New Hope. The first Star Wars animated series was The Ewoks and Droids Adventure Hour (1985–1987). Ewoks was set before the events of the original Star Wars movie trilogy.
