Fans may see the Fantastic Four being introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than they expected. According to theGWW, Marvel studio is eyeing a 2022 release date for the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot with ‘Ant-Man’ director Peyton Reed already in talks with Kevin Feige.
“I developed it for about a year and we went through some different permutations and some different writers, but yes, one of the big ideas was a set-in-the-’60s thing that at the time was structurally gonna be basically like [The Beatles’ 1964 comedy-musical] A Hard Day’s Night, where we were not going to even deal with the origin story,” Reed said.
“It was just going to be like you’re in Downtown Manhattan and they’re there. It was a pretty exciting idea. At the time — again this was 2002 or ’03 — early on, way pre-MCU, I felt like Fox was not gonna make it.”
The original Fantastic Four was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The team made their debut in The Fantastic Four #1 (Nov. 1961). The first Fantastic Four live-action film was released in 1994 by through bootleg video distributors. The Franchise second film adaptation, Fantastic Four was released in cinemas in 2005, the film received a sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, in 2007. A reboot also titled Fantastic Four (Fant4stic) was released on August 7, 2015
