A website and Twitter account for the anime television series based on Ken Wakui‘s Tokyo Revengers manga series has been launched. In addition, an announcement trailer revealed that the anime series will premiere in 2021. As we previously reported, the Tokyo Revengers anime series has been in development for sometimes now.
Written and illustrated by Wakui, the series has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since March 2017. The manga won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shōnen category in 2020. A live-action film adaptation based on the manga series is scheduled to be released in Japan in October 2020. However, the film’s crew halted filming in April due to the CODVID-19 outbreak. Warner Bros. Japan is producing the movie.
