The official website for the 2nd live-action films adaptation of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga unveiled on Monday a first image featuring the Helter Skelter bar patron Itori. The character is played by South Korean actress and singer Jiyoung (Hell Teacher Nube,Assassination Classroom). Masataka Kubota will portray Kaneki and Maika Yamamoto as Tōka.
The 2nd movie titled Tokyo Ghoul 2 will open in Japan on July 19. The first film premiered on July 3, 2017 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
Ishida first published Tokyo Ghoul in Weekly Young Jump in 2011 and was adapted into an anime series in 2014. Tokyo Ghoul:re, the sequel to the manga series was published in Weekly Shonen Jump back in October 2014. The sequel has currently 12 volumes in print.
