Studio Khara’s unveiled on Saturday a teaser visual for SHIN ULTRAMAN film at the “Tsuburaya Convention 2019” event. EVANGELION 3.0 + 1.0 director, Hideaki Anno, will collaborate with Shinji Higuchi for the new ULTRAMAN movie. Higuchi will direct the new film and Anno will produce and write the screenplay. Tsuburaya Productions, Toho Studios, and Studio Khara are also producing the Ultraman film.
Shin Ultraman is currently scheduled for release in 2021 to commemorate the 55th Anniversary of the Ultraman franchise. The film will star Takumi Saitou in the titular role of Ultraman. Masami Nagasawa will be Ultraman’s partner in movie.
Tsuburaya and Studio TRIGGER also announced a new SSSS. Gridman anime project titled “SSSS.DYNAZENON,” and the second season of Netflix’s ULTRAMAN anime series.
Ultraman television series aired in Japan from July 17, 1966, to April 9, 1967. The tokusatsu superhero series was followed by many other original series with Ultraman Taiga being the latest series in the franchise.
