The Witcher will be available to stream on Netflix from December 20th, and if you are among the fans excited to see the book series get a live-action television series, we have some exciting news for you.
According to the show’s executive producer, Tomek Bagiński, Netflix might develop a television anime series. Bagiński was asked if the show will get animated in a recent interview with IGN Poland. Although he didn’t confirm if the show will receive an anime adaptation, he also didn’t deny the possibility that it might happen.
“I don’t want to reveal too much here,” said Bagiński. “But who knows if we won’t see the Witcher in such a style. However, these are things that I would prefer not to talk too much about.”
Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix, The Witcher is based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. It wouldn’t really be a surprise if Netflix decides to adapt the book series into an anime show considering how much of a success Castlevania is.
The series main includes, Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as King Eist Tuirseach, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia de Vries, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina Glevissig and Emma Appleton as Princess Renfri.
The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
