According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has cast comedian Steve Agee as the voice of King Shark in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad . Agee played the Ravager Gef in Gunn’s Marvel sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.


King Shark is the son of Chondrakha, the God of all Sharks. The fictional character was created by Karl Kesel in 1994, as a Superboy villaina. He made a brief cameo in Superboy vol. 3, #0 before making his first full debut in Superboy vol. 3, #9. King Shark is also a member of the Suicide Squad.

Gunn’s relaunch of The Suicide Squad movie will star Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg cast in an unnamed role and Idris Elba will allegedly play Bronze Tiger. Other rumored cast includes John Cena as Peacemaker and Michael Rooker as King Shark. Benicio del Toro is allegedly in talks to play the role of the main antagonist known as The General.

The first Suicide Squad movie grossed $745 million worldwide, with an all-star cast consisting of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.

The Suicide Squad first version of debuted in The Brave and the Bold #25 (Sept. 1959), and was created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Ross Andru. The team included Rick Flag, Jr., his girlfriend Karen Grace, Dr. Hugh Evans, and Jess Bright. The second and modern version, created by John Ostrander, debuted in Legends #3 (Jan. 1987).

The Suicide Squad first table read is expected to take place on September 11th with principal photography expected to officially commence on September 23. The film is set to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
