According to Forbes, Idris Elba will play the role of Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger in James Gunn’s relaunch of The Suicide Squad movie. The British actor was originally set to replace Will Smith as DeadShot in the movie of SUICIDE SQUAD 2 after Smith had to leave the role due to scheduling conflicts. But looks like Gunn had to recast the actor leaving a possible return for Smith.

Bronze Tiger made his first debut in Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter #1 (May 1975). The fictional character was created by Dennis O’Neil, Jim Berry and Leopoldo Duranona.

Gunn’s relaunch of The Suicide Squad movie stars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Idris Elba in an undisclosed role. Other rumoured cast includes John Cena as Peacemaker, Michael Rooker as King Shark and David Dastmalchian as Polka Dot Man.

The first Suicide Squad movie grossed $745 million worldwide, with an all-star cast consisting of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.

The Suicide Squad first version of debuted in The Brave and the Bold #25 (Sept. 1959), and was created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Ross Andru. The team included Rick Flag, Jr., his girlfriend Karen Grace, Dr. Hugh Evans, and Jess Bright. The second and modern version, created by John Ostrander, debuted in Legends #3 (Jan. 1987).
