Warner bros. and DC Comics allegedly eyeing Benicio del Toro to play the main villain in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad movie. According to Forbes, the Guardians of the Galaxy star his in talks to play the role of antagonist known as The General.
It’s not sure if Del Toro character will still go by that name when the movie arrives in cinema. So far Gunn’s relaunch of The Suicide Squad movie will star Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher) and Idris Elba will allegedly play Bronze Tiger. Other rumored cast includes John Cena as Peacemaker and Michael Rooker as King Shark.
The first Suicide Squad movie grossed $745 million worldwide, with an all-star cast consisting of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.
The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters August 6, 2021.
