Fans of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime will have to wait until next year for the series’ second season. The show’s official website has revealed that the second season, titled “The Rising of The Shield Hero 2” which was previewed to premiere in October 2021, has been pushed to April 2022. The website did not reveal the reason behind the anime delay.
Kinema Citrus and DR MOVIE are animating the series, with Masato Jinbo directing. Jinbo replacing the series season one director, Takao Abo. Keigo Koyanagi will write the series and Masahiro Suwa will design characters. Kevin Penkin is returning to compose the music.
Yusagi originally published The Rising of the Shield Hero “Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari” light novel as a web novel in Shōsetsuka ni Narō novel site, before being adapted into a manga series by Aiya Kyū at Media Factory with illustrations by Seira Minami.
The Rising of The Shield Hero anime series first season aired on January 9 for 25 episodes. Kinema Citrus produced the show’s animation and Takao Abo (Norn9) served as the director. Keigo Koyanagi composed the anime series and Masahiro Suwa designed the characters based on Seira Minami’s original character designs. Crunchyroll co-produced the show with Kadokawa.
