The Last Summoner (Zui Hou De Zhao Huan Shi) is one of the most anticipated series right now but fans will have to wait a little longer before the donghua series premieres. The show was slated for release during the summer holidays in China which start from July to August, however, the show wasn’t released. Despite requests from fans on the donghua series page on BiliBili, the company still hasn’t released a statement or announce why or when the series will actually air. This could be related to a shortage of staff due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Some of BiliBili and Tencent’s show had to be delayed due to the pandemic affecting production, but we are guessing The Last Summoner being has to do with fans’ concern with the show’s animation style.
When the series first trailer was released it was also noted that the series will be animated Japanese style like Tower of God and God of High School despite being a Chinese animation. Fans immediately raised their concern about the animation noting how some elements were poorly animated. The trailer also revealed that the series’ first season will adapt half of the ongoing comic. it had fans worried that the show will leave out some parts of the storyline. Since then BiliBili has yet to release any more information about The Last Summoner. BiliBili even failed to announce the official release date of the series after it was revealed it will premiere around July or August.
The Last Summoner is based on the ongoing manga/webtoon by written by Bo He Ying Xiang. The series is being animated by ASK Animation Studio.
