The Flash: Muschietti promises a different version of Flashpoint for the movie.

Last year DC Comics and Warner Bros. revealed that The Flash live-action movie which will feature Ezra Miller Scarlet Speedster would be released on July 1, 2022. It was also announced that the film will be based on the 2011’s Flashpoint storyline comic book series written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kubert. Now thanks to film director, Andrés Muschietti, we know what to expect. Speak to That Hashtag Show, Muschietti revealed that The Flash movie will present a “different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting.”

In Flashpoint, Barry Allen wakes up to discover everything and everyone around him has changed. He is not Flash, nor does he have powers. His mother Nora (deceased in his own timeline) is alive; his father, Henry, died of a heart attack three years ago (alive and in prison in his own timeline). Captain Cold is Central City’s greatest hero, the Justice League was never established, and Superman is being held captive as a lab-rat by the United States government within an underground facility in Metropolis. Thomas Wayne is Batman.

In addition, Wonder Woman’s Amazons have conquered the British Isles, while Aquaman’s Atlanteans have sunk the rest of Western Europe, and the battle between the two has caused massive death and destruction. America is similarly endangered. The heroes cannot cooperate to find a solution, and the meeting is ended.

Flashpoint was adapted into an animated feature film titled “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox“. The animated movie was released on July 30, 2013. The CW also adapted the storyline in the 3rd season of the network’s television series of The Flash.

Muschietti (It: Chapter 2) will direct the movie with Christina Hodson (BumblebeeBirds of Prey) allegedly in talks to write the scripts. Ezra Miller made his first appearance as The Flash in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, followed by Suicide Squad. He made his official debut as Barry Allen/The Flash in 2017’s Justice League movie.

A new version of Flashpoint could also mean we won’t other Justice League members appear in the movie. What’re your thoughts on the news?
