Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night Past & Future is one of the most anticipated anime projects of 2021, and now we know when it will be revealed. Thanks to a new key visual unveiled at Aniplex Online Fest 2021, we know the anime film which will retell the story of the Sword Art Online series will open in Japan on October 30. The visual released at the panel features Kirito, Asuna, and Mito, the new character who will be voiced by Inori Minase. Additionally, the anime movie will also get a North America. The franchise official English Twitter account announced that “more information regarding the U.S. release will be coming soon!“
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu are returning as the voice cast for Kirito and Asuna respectively. Ayako Kawano (The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky) is directing the film at A-1 Pictures. Kento Toya (Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld) is designing the characters. Yasuyuki Kai is the action director, and Yuki Kajiura will compose the music.
