Square Enix’s announced today a completely new RPG game title “Gate of Nightmares,” in which Hiro Mashima will handle the character design and world setting. The developer also released an announcement teaser movie and character design. Square Enix also launched the Gate of Nightmares‘ official Twitter account and Website, promising to reveal more.
SO far we know Yuya Hirose will voice the main character Azel, Lynn as the heroine Emma, and Atsumi Tanezaki will voice Meruru. Yasuharu Takanashi, who also composed music for the “FAIRY TAIL” anime series, will be in charge of the music. Natsuki Hanae, and Hiroki Yasumoto are also part of the cast.
The RPG game is written and directed by Jin Fujisawa. Fujisawa also directed Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies and the original version of Dragon Quest X Online. Mashima teased that more illustrations and information will be released soon.
Gate of Nightmares will launch on iOS and Android in Japan. There’s no official release date yet.
Gate of Nightmares is a traditional fantasy adventure of swords and magic, set in both the “real world” where people live, and “Remurias,” a world of mixed up dreams made manifest. When Emma, a girl who became a “Nightwalker” and commands monsters known as “Nightmares,” which are born from bad dreams, encounters Azel, a mysterious boy with a constitution that is liked by Nightmare., she gets wrapped up in an adventure where the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
