Toei has revealed that a new Kamen Rider movie is in the works. The new film titled Shin Kamen Rider will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the franchise. The company also launched Shin Kamen Rider’s official website and an announcement teaser trailer.
The film will be written and directed by Hideaki Anno. Anno previously worked on Shin Godzilla (2016). His latest film Shin Ultraman was recently delayed due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Shin Ultraman is set to commemorate the 55th Anniversary of the Ultraman franchise. The director is also known for his work in Neon Genesis Evangelion.
“It’s been six years since production began. Due to changes in production because of the Coronavirus, the release of the film has been pushed to two years away. Thank you for your patience,” Anno commented on the production of Shin Kamen Rider.
Shin Kamen Rider will be released in 2023!
