Studio Khara has revealed that “Shin Evangelion” is finally n production 5years after the film was officially announced.
Khara tweeted on Wednesday 5 April, that work on Shin Evangelion Gekijo ban/Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 is being done.
“Shin Eva meeting. We’re hard at work in production!” director Hideaki Anno studio tweeted.
Shin Evangelion was first announced back in 2012, but director Hideaki Anno took a break from the series to work on the award wining film Shin Godzilla. It was teased last month that the film will come to light after a message seen after the Shin Godzilla vs.Evangelion Symphony said to fans “please look foward to the next work in the Godzilla franchise and Shin Evangelion.”
Set in a futuristic Tokyo 15years after a worldwide cataclysm, Neon Genesis Evangelion follows 15 year old boy Shinji Ikari teenage boy who is recruited by his father into the shadowy organization NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine mechacalled an Evangelionin combat against monstrous beings known as Angels.
The Japanese anime was first broadcast October 1995 to March 1996. The TV series was produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production, and directed by Hideaki Anno.
