Secret Invasion: Emilia Clarke in Final Talks To Join Marvel’s Series.

Marvel’s Secret Invasion casts Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke in a Secret Role.

Another Game of Thrones star is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Variety is reporting that Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, is in talks with Marvel Studios to join Disney Plus’ Secret Invasion series. Clarke will be the second Game of Thrones star to join the MCU following Kit Harrington casting as Black Knight in Marvel’s ETERNAL.

Disney and Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion series will be based on the comic book event from writer Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu. The series will reportedly tie into the Captain Marvel movies. If the deal goes through, Clarke will join already announced cast Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.

The story involves a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the overt invasion. Marvel’s promotional tagline for the event was “Who do you trust?”
