The final chapter of the live-action adaptation movie for Nobuhiro Watsuki’s “Rurouni Kenshin” will be released in the summer of 2020. The first film “Rurouni Kenshin: Origins” directed by Keishi Ōtomo and starring Takeshi Sato and Emi Takei was released in Japan in August 2012. The sequel “Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends adapted the Kyoto arc of the manga and were released in August and September 2014, respectively.
The final chapter will feature a never told before story, and is based to the “Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal )Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku-hen) also known as Rurouni Kenshin: Recollection, and the climax after the battle with Shishio Truth.
The original “Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Kenkaku Romantan-” was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1999. The manga has been adapted into a TV anime series which aired in Japan from January 10, 1996 to September 8, 1998. An animated feature film, two OVA series and various video games.
