Ron Perlman To Return As The Voice Of Optimus Primal in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Ron Perlman will voice Optimus primal, the leader of the Maximals, and captains the starship Axalon in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Ron Perlman will be joining Peter Cullen in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Collider is reporting. Perlman will voice Optimus Primal in the newly announced movie. Perlman first voiced Optimus Primal in the Transformers: Power of the Primes web series. Optimus primal (Gorilla) is the leader of the Maximals and captains the starship Axalon. The character will also make an appearance in Netflix’s CG-animated Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set after Bumblebee’s 2018 film and will primarily be influenced by the Beast Wars animated series storyline. The film will focus on Optimus Prime in 1994 in Brooklyn, New York City, and parts of Peru such as Machu Picchu, Cusco, and San Martín. The film will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. with Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Luna Lauren Velez as new human leads.


Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is scheduled to open on June 24, 2022. The film will be released in Japan under the title Transformers: Beast Kakusei.
