Saban has released an official statement regarding the abandonment of the company’s trademark for their Entertainment division logo which includes online games, motion pictures, multimedia entertainment content, and television shows.
Saban revealed in the statement that the future the Power Rangers franchise “remains as strong and enthusiastic about its future as ever.”
The Power Rangers franchise is gearing up to celebrate it 25th anniversary in 2018. So be a new logo is needed.
“Power Rangers continues to own and renew hundreds of trademark registrations worldwide, including for the 2017 movie logo. The trademark registration process is very nuanced, and the status of the single application has no bearing on our ownership of or the future plans for Power Rangers. The franchise remains as strong and enthusiastic about its future as ever.”
Power Rangers was first produced by Toei Company and aired in Japan as “tokusatsu Super Sentai,” and later received an American remark “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” by Saban Entertainment and aired on the Fox Kids network from 1993 to 2001.
