A year ago Nightwing director, Chris McKay, told fans that the movie wasn’t dead since announced back in 2017. And looks like the movie has been on ice with the only related news regarding the film were reports that it was being delayed because of Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Now Power Ranger actor, Yoshi Sudarso, wants a shot at playing Dick Grayson in the DC Universe slated film.
Sudaro, who plays Koda on Power Rangers Dino Charge, took Twitter recently to pitch his version of the movie.
There’s gotta be an Earth where Nightwing is of Asian descent. He’s an acrobat that was orphaned, taken in by a rich white man, and just happens to lean towards Kali/Escrima sticks as weapon of choice?? Like cmonnnn, gimme a shot DC, pllssss 🙇🏻♂️— Yoshi Sudarso (@yoshi_sudarso) January 10, 2020
Sudaro was a suit-actor in Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Megaforce before being cast as Koda in Power Rangers Dino Charge and Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel. He was also a stunt actor in The Maze Runner, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Alita: Battle Angel.
When first announced in 2017, it was planned that the Nightwing would be set in the DCEU, where Ben Affleck’s Batman had been fighting crime for 20 years. Now that Matt Reeves’ is developing a new Bat-family, Dick Grayson will allegedly first make his debut as Robin before starring on his own solo movie.
