Overlord season 4 and new anime film announced.

Overlord anime series season 4 has finally been confirmed. Well, we knew Overlord season 4 was on the way since the news first broke out in August 2019. The news was confirmed by the series’ staff during a live special that aired with Saturday’s streaming marathon of the Overlord in Japan. The staff also announced that a third and brand-new anime film centered around the Sei Ōkoku-hen (Holy Kingdom Arc) of the manga is in development. In addition, a key visual and an illustration by so-bin, the manga series artist, was also released.

Overlord first season ran from July 7 to September 29, 2015. The anime show second season aired between January 9 to April 3, 2018, the third season followed later the same year on July 10, 2018. The series received two compilation anime films based on the events from the first season. Both films were released in Japan on February 25, 2017, and March 11, 2017, respectively.

The light novel series is written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. Overlord was launch online in 2010, before being acquired by Enterbrain. The light novel received a manga adaptation by Satoshi Ōshio with art by Hugin Miyama in Kadokawa Shoten’s manga magazine Comp Ace from November 26, 2014.
