While we wait for the 3rd season of One Punch-Man anime series to be announced, it was revealed today that the manga series has 21 million copies in circulation for vols 1 – 22. The manga has sold 7million copies less than the My Hero Academia manga series which debuted 2 years after ONE’s series, but it could be due to the fact that the series has been released periodically instead of regularly the My Hero Academia. My Hero Academia currently has Vol 27 and One Punch-Man 22. This just shows how popular the series is among fans. We also have the cover of the latest manga volume.
The manga series follows Saitama, an extremely overpowered superhero, who has grown bored by the absence of challenge in his fight against evil and seeks to find a worthy opponent. The original ongoing superhero parody webcomic was created by an author using the pseudonym ONE. Yusuke Murata’s digital manga remake of One Punch Man began publication on Shueisha’s Young Jump Web Comics website in 2012.
The first season by Madhouse aired in Japan between October and December 2015. The series was one of the popular anime series of the year. J.C.Staff replaced Madhouse to animated the second season of One Punch Man anime series with Chikara Sakurai replacing Shingo Natsume as director and Yoshikazu Iwanami replacing Shoji Hata as sound director. The second season aired between April and July 2019.
An original video anime was released with the fourth Blu-ray & DVD volume of the One Punch Man anime season 2 on January 28th.
