New reports suggesting that Marvel Studio is currently working on Annihilation movie which will see Nova and Adam Warlock take center stage. The movie will allegedly be based on the comic book miniseries written by Keith Giffen, with editor Andy Schmidt where parallel stories pitting the Silver Surfer, Nova, Ronan the Accuser, and the Super-Skrull against Annihilus and his forces lead into a climatic.
The Annihilation will feature characters such as Captain Marvel, Moondragon and Quasar, while the villains are said to be Annihilus, Galactus and Terrax.
At this point, it will be wise to take the news with a grain of salt, but with a NOVA project allegedly in development at the Studio with Kevin Feige and Adam Warlock being teased in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s post-credits scenes, it still possible that Marvel is considering to make Annihilation crossover event of the Marvel Cinematic Universe phase 4.
Annihilation crossover storyline launched in 2006 with Annihilation: Prologue. It was followed by Silver Surfer released on April 1, 2006, Super-Skrull on April 12, 2006, Nova on April 19, 2006, and Ronan the Accuser on April 26, 2006. Marvel later published Annihilation as a six-issue mini-series starting in August 2006. Two new issues of Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus and a new volume of Nova were also released later on.
