Mulan takes her father’s place in a new action-packed trailer.

With only weeks left before the official release for Niki Caro’s live-action movie adaptation of Mulan, Disney’s YouTube channel has released an action-packed trailer for the upcoming movie. Additionally, the trailer also sees Mulan deciding to take her father’s place after the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army.

The film is based on Disney’s 1998 animated film of the same name which in return is taken from the Chinese folklore “The Ballad of Mulan”. The film stars Liu Yifei as the titular character, alongside Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li in supporting roles. The film is directed by Niki Caro with a screenplay by Rick Jaffa
, Amanda Silver, Lauren Hynek, and Elizabeth Martin. 

Mulan is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on March 27, 2020.

Mulan is the epic adventure of a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to fight Northern Invaders attacking China. The eldest daughter of an honored warrior, Hua Mulan is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. When the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in to take the place of her ailing father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors ever.
