Ms. Marvel: Marvel Studios Cast Iman Vellani As Kamala Khan.

Iman Vellani could portray Ms. Marvel in future MCU films.

Kamala Khan has finally arrived in the MCU! Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studio has cast newcomer Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel for the upcoming Disney+ series. So far this is Vellani’s first major role and she could be joining the other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters on the big screen like it was previously revealed when the project was first announced. Marvel and Disney already stated that the series will be the first in the MCU starring a new character.

Bisha K. Ali (Four Weddings and a Funeral), will act as showrunner. Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon will direct episodes of Ms. Marvel for Disney+. Ms. Marvel will begin production in Atlanta, Georgia this November 2020 until March 2021.

Kamala Khan was created by editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G. Willow Wilson, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie. She made her first appearance in Captain Marvel #14 (August 2013). Ms. Marvel has Inhuman genes with shapeshifting abilities. Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic book.
