As fans eagerly wait for DC and Warner Bros. announce who will replace Ben Affleck as Batman, the film new rumor may have removed two candidates from the picture.
According UkProductionNews.com, Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN will begin shooting in London this Autumn. The news means Robert Pattinson and Aaron Taylor-Johnson will likely not be cast as the young Bruce Wayne due to the pair starring in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie Tenet, which doesn’t wrap filming until November.
The international espionage thriller will shot across seven countries including US, Estonia, Italy, the UK and India, with the latest news suggesting that the film will shot for eight day in Mumbai in mid-September. Unless THE BATMAN ends up shooting in 2020, Pattinson and Taylor-Johnson are out. Leaving Armie Hammer and Nicholas Hoult (Beast in X-Men: First Class and new X-Men movies) the most likely candidate to take on the role.
Fans who wants to see Pattinson or Taylor-Johnson take on the role shouldn’t lose hope though. Early this month it was revealed that Reeves’ The Batman movie script is still being updated and could see the film start shooting in 2020 instead of fall 2019.
Reeves The Batman will feature a younger Batman/Bruce Wayne with a new actor in the role following Ben Affleck’s departure. The movie is says to be more comic accurate than any other Batman movie to date. The film will reportedly be a standalone movie rather than a prequel set in DCEU.
THE BATMAN will allegedly feature around half-a-dozen villains. Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Scarecrow, Deathstroke, Killer Croc and Bane are all rumored to appear in the movie.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
