Mortal Kombat reboot is currently in shooting in South Australia and thanks to the movie producer, Todd Garner, we have a behind-the-scene image of what looks Sub-Zero’s flash-freeze power. Garner shared the on his official Twitter account with the caption ” Frozen… too… ” in reference to Elsa having the same power set as Sub-Zero.
According to Sub-Zero actor, Joe Taslim, the movie will may explore the character’s origin story and possibly feature the Lin Kuei clan.
The first Sub-Zero, Bi-Han, debuted in the original Mortal Kombat released in 1992. After being killed by the specter Scorpion, his younger brother, Kuai Liang, replaced him in Mortal Kombat II released in 1993. Liang was originally known by his codename Tundra and was also a member of the Lin Kuei clan. Bi-Han was later resurrected into the undead Noob Saibot by Quan Chi after he enlists Bi-Han’s soul .
James Wan is producing the reboot of 1995’s Mortal Kombat and 1997’s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation movie with Simon McQuoid serving as director. Greg Russo is writing the film script.
The Mortal Kombat reboot film cast includes Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, and Lewis Tan as Johnny Cage.
Mortal Kombat live-action movie adaptation will be released on March 5, 2021.
