Marvel artist/Colorist Justin Ponsor passed away this weekend after battling cancer. The news revealed by DC Comics BATMAN/SUPERMAN comic book artist , David Marquez.
I just learned that my friend and long-time artistic partner Justin Ponsor passed away this weekend. I can’t express just how much working with him has meant to me over the past 8 years.
The world is lesser place for his loss but all of us are made better for having known him.

Early this year a GoFundMe page was launched to help the artist with medical expense for his treatment.
Ponsor reveal in a blog post back in March that he was feeling better and was hoping to enjoy another period of 90% normalcy this year like he did during the latter half of 2018.
My battles are down to eating enough (and keeping it down), fatigue, and regaining my strength. Doesn’t seem so bad, although I’d love food to taste normal again. I miss liking food! Though my official scans are still a few weeks away, I can infer from how much better I’m feeling that my chemo drugs are doing their job. Hopefully, I’ll enjoy another period of 90% normalcy like I did during the latter half of 2018. Fingers firmly and metaphorically crossed for 2019!
Ponsor is known for his worked on some Marvel Comics series such as Defenders, Invincible Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Star Wars, as well as plenty of Spider-Man, X-Men and Avengers comics.
May his soul Rest In Peace.
