NHK has revealed that Log Horizon anime will be returning after six years. The station announced on Wednesday that the anime series 3rd will be titled Log Horizon: Entaku Hōkai (Log Horizon: Fall of the Round Table) and will begin airing in October 2020. In addition, the staff and cast of the two preview seasons will also return for the anime season 3.
Studio DEEN is producing the anime with Shinji Ishihira returning as director. Toshizo Nemoto is also returning to write the scripts with Syouji Masuda supervising. Log Horizon manga series illustratorKazuhiro Hara is being credited with the original character designs.
Log Horizon anime first season premiered back in 2013. The series second season aired the following year.
Author Mamare Touno and illustrator Kazuhiro Hara’s began serializing Log Horizon online in 2010 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The series was later published as a light novel after being acquired by Enterbrain in 2011. The novel has received four manga adaptations, with one based on the main story and the other three revolving around characters in the series.
