Justice League 2 Release Depends on The Snyder Cut Success.

Justice League 2 may be on the way according to new reports. Warner Bros. and DC Comics agreed to release the Snyder Cut last week. Grace Randolph claims that Warner Bros. wants Zack Snyder to add elements into the Snyder Cut to set up Justice League 2 and Man of Steel 2. The company apparently planning on moving forwards with Justice League sequel if the Snyder Cut is a huge success when the project is released on HBO Max.

According to THR, the Snyder cut of the Justice League will either be a 4-hour movie or 6-episode series. The project will cost an estimated between $20M-30M. A Justice League sequel has a 50/50 chance of happening as the Snyder’s version of the Justice League is rumored to be better than the theatrical version released by Warner Bros in 2017.

The Batman vs Superman director announced during his Man of Steel watch party that his edit of the Justice League film will be released on HBO Max in 2021. Snyder stepped down to deal with the death of his daughter. The Avenger’s director Joss Whedon was hired to oversee the completion of post-production, including directing additional scenes written by himself.

Justice League bombed at the box office grossing around $657 million, with Warner Bros. reportedly losing $60 million. With an estimated production budget of $300 million, the Justice League is one of the most expensive films ever made. However, critics praised the action sequences and performances of the cast in the movie. Cavill, Affleck, Gadot, Fisher, Miller, and Momoa would return to help complete the Snyder Cut.

Andy Muschietti previously revealed that his live-action movie adaptation of The Flash will hit theaters on July 1, 2022. Muschietti (It: Chapter 2) will reportedly direct the movie with Christina Hodson (Bumblebee, Birds of Prey) allegedly in talks to write the scripts. The film will feature Ezra Miller Scarlet Speedster. Miller made his first appearance as The Flash in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, followed by Suicide Squad. He made his official debut as Barry Allen/The Flash in 2017’s Justice League movie.

Warner Bros together with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also announced that the long-awaited Black Adam movie is set to hit theaters on 22 December 2021. Dwayne gave us an insight into his version of the character in the upcoming Shazam! spin-off movie.

Jaume Collet-Serra will direct the Black Adam movie and dam Sztykiel is writing the script. The film is produced by Johnson and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, along with Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company.

Wonder Woman 2, the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe, released has been pushed back. The film was previously set for December 13, 2019, and then moved to November 1, 2019, before settling on June 5, 2020 release date.

The film is directed by Patty Jenkins. It will take place in the 80’s during the Cold War between the US and the then-Soviet Union, and will see Diana Prince/Wonder Woman faces two new villains,  Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva, aka Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal’s Max Lord while dealing with the mysterious return of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor.

Jenkins wrote the film with Geoff Johns and David Callaham. Gal Gadot made her debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), before making her full debut in Wonder Woman (2017) and Justice League (2017). The first Wonder Woman film was the highest-grossing movie of summer 2017 earning $412.5 million in the US and $821.8 million worldwide.

The DCEU will continue with The Suicide Squad, The Batman, and Aquaman 2 in 2022. The DCEU is the eleventh-highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over $5.48 billion at the global box office.
