Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton in the upcoming Disney+ Hawkeye series which will also feature Kate Bishop‘s debut in MCU. A new report suggesting that Iron-Man love interest and enemy, Madame Masque, will appear in a supporting role in Hawkeye.
According to The Direct, Marvel Studios is looking to cast an actress to play Whitney Frost, a.k.a. Madame Masque. Whitney’s attributes will make her a formidable foe for Clint Barton. Although I’d love to see her face Black Widow.
If the rumors are real it will mean that we will now have two versions of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wynn Everett portrayed the character in Season 2 of Agent Carter.
Created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan, Madame Masque is a skilled hand to hand combatant, an expert markswoman, a master strategist, and proficiency with robotics. Whitney Frost first appeared in Tales of Suspense #98 published in February 1968, she made her debut as Madame Masque one year later in Iron Man #17 released in September 1969.
Hawkeye is scheduled to premiere in fall 2021 on Disney+.
