A new GARO television series has been announced to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the GARO tokusatsu franchise. The new Garo series titled GARO: Versus Road will continue the Golden Knight adventures.
GARO: Versus Road tells the story of a young man named Sora, played by Matsudai Kouya, who receives a mysterious virtual-reality headset and becomes drawn into a strange game with many other players that can drastically affect the real world.
The first Golden Knight Garo series aired on TV Tokyo from October 7, 2005, to March 31, 2006. The television series is the first installment of the “GARO” metaseries. A sequel, Garo: Makai Senki aired on TV Tokyo between October 6, 2011, and March 22, 2012.
GARO series was created by sci-fi/fantasy writer, film producer, and director Keita Amemiya. Amemiya also designed the characters and directed the series.
The franchise first anime series Garo: The Carved Seal of Flames, premiered in October 2014. The second series titled Garo: Crimson Moon premiered in October 2015. A film sequel of the first series titled Garo: Divine Flame premiered in Japan on May 21, 2016. The third anime series titled Garo: Vanishing Line premiered in October 2017. A film sequel of the second series titled Garo: The Fleeting Cherry Blossom premiered in Japan on October 6, 2018.
