The Snow Queen live-action film adaptation is reportedly in works. According to The DisInsider, the film based on Han Christian Andersen’s longest and most highly acclaimed stories is the early stage of development at Walt Disney Studios with other projects including a live-action Rapunzel film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Hercules.
Christopher Robin and the upcoming Cruella film’s Kristin Burr is attached as the film producer. The studio still looking for a writer and director. The Story details are apparently being kept under wraps.
Andersen first published The Snow Queen on 21 December 1844 in New Fairy Tales. The story centres on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by Gerda and her friend, Kai. Elizabeth Mitchell played the Snow Queen in Once Upon a Time. It was later revealed in the series that she’s the aunt of Frozen‘s Anna and Elsa.
