We have our first look at Stargirl’s new big bad. TV Line has unveiled the poster for the series new villain, Eclipso. The show’s new antagonist will be portrayed by Nick Tarabay (Captain Boomerang in Arrow). The character is being described as “an ancient entity of corruption and vengeance“.

An ancient entity of corruption and vengeance, who is described as physically imposing and frightening. Brimming with cold, terrifying darkness, Eclipso exploits the flaws of others, reveling in the impure and sinful, sadistically feeding off the dark side of humanity.
The character made his debut in House of Secrets #61 published in August 1963. He was created by Bob Haney and Lee Elias as the incarnation of the Wrath of God and the Angel of Vengeance that turned evil. Eclipso was first introduced as an average supervillain until being reintroduced as a vengeance demon in 1992’s Darkness Within miniseries.
Tarabay won’t be the only newcomer in the show. Jonathan Cake will join the show as Injustice Society alum The Shade, and John Wesley Shipp (The Flash) as Golden Age speedster Jay Garrick. So far Stargirl’s 2nd season has no release date yet, but It is scheduled to air in 2021 and will consist of 13 episodes like the first season which premiered on May 18, 2020. The series will return as a CW original series after the first season aired on the DC Universe streaming service.
