Ezra Bridger is reportedly the next Star Wars: Rebels character slated to make a live-action debut. The Illuminerdi is reporting that Disney and Lucasfilm are looking to cast Ezra Bridger for a Star Wars live-action. The series will be the Disney+ streaming service. Disney and LucasFilm want to introduce Ezra as the new face of the expanding Star Wars universe.
According to the casting call, the company is looking for “a male, between the ages of 30 to 40. They are looking for an actor of color, specifically, performers of Asian descent, however, they are open to Indian, Latino, or Middle Eastern actors as well“. The report states that the casting has been going behind the scenes for a while now. They also noted that it is not for The Mandalorian. The Ezra Bridger’s Star Wars series could reveal what unfolded happened between the Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Ezra Bridger is the main character of the Disney XD animated series, Star Wars Rebels. Ezra relied on his street smarts to survive while growing up on his own during the age of the Empire. Ezra was eventually adopted by Kanan Jarrus, who acknowledges his Force potential and joins the crew of the Ghost in their small Rebellion against the Empire
There are reports a new Star Wars Rebels animated series based on Jedi Ashoka Tano and Sabine Wren is in the development. The Star Wars series will take place after the events of Star Wars: Rebels as they attempt to track down Ezra Bridger. The series will allegedly be coming sometime this year on Disney+.
Star Wars Rebels’ first season premiered on October 13 on Disney XD. The 3D CGI animated series second season premiered on June 20, 2015. The third season premiered on September 24, 2016, and the fourth and final season premiered on October 16, 2017. The series is set five years before A New Hope.
