Shinya Komi revealed on Thursday that EX-ARM manga will be receiving a TV anime series. Komi made the announcement on Twitter by posting the cover art of the 14th compiled book volume of the manga with a wraparound jacket band announcing that the anime show will premiere in summer 2020.
EX-Arm is written by HiRock and illustrated by Shinya Komi. The manga was published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Grand Jump in February 2015, before moving to Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website in December 2017.The series is a remake of Komi’s earlier manga Ex-Vita. EX-Arm received a novel adaptation by Atarō Kumo in Shueisha on December 19, 2018.
EX-Arm centers around high school student Akira Natsume who becomes part of an advanced weapon after his brain is saved when he is involved in a traffic accident. Akira works with the police’s EX-ARM countermeasure division in order to regain his lost memories and body.
EX-arm anime television series adaptation is set to premiere in July 2020.
