Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced that the anime series adaptation of Shinya Komi and HiRock’s EX-ARM manga will begin airing in January 2021. The anime was delayed to slated to air summer 2020 but was delayed due to the spread of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
EX-Arm is written by HiRock and illustrated by Shinya Komi. The manga was published in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Grand Jump in February 2015, before moving to Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website in December 2017.The series is a remake of Komi’s earlier manga Ex-Vita. EX-Arm received a novel adaptation by Atarō Kumo in Shueisha on December 19, 2018.
EX-Arm centers around high school student Akira Natsume who becomes part of an advanced weapon after his brain is saved when he is involved in a traffic accident. Akira works with the police’s EX-ARM countermeasure division in order to regain his lost memories and body.
EX-arm anime television series adaptation is set to premiere in July 2020.
