During D23 Expo last year we were introduced to the cast of the ETERNALS movie with a teaser of the characters’ design. And now the latest action figure from the movie promotional products has given a first look at Salma Hayek‘s as Ajak. Hayek will portray a female version Ajak in the MCU, confirming that the film will gender swap some characters. The Marvel Legends Series action figure describes Ajax as “the spiritual leader of the Eternals”. The character’s description also reveals Ajak can heal others and is able to communicate with the Celestials.
Marvel Studios recently revealed that THE ETERNALS movie will be changing it titled to ETERNALS. The studio previously announced the film will be moved from this November to February 12th, 2021 due to COVID-19. The film is directed by Chloé Zhao, written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. It is the twenty-fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The Eternals will be set millions of years ago focusing on The Celestials and Deviants with a focus on Ikaris and Sersi. The Eternals and The Deviants are an offshoot of the evolutionary process that created sentient life on Earth instigated by the alien Celestials.
The Eternals casts include Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris: An Eternal fueled by cosmic energy, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari: An Eternal. She is the first deaf superhero in the MCU. Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak: The leader of the Eternals, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Gemma Chan as Sersi.Chan previously portrayed Minn-Erva in the MCU film Captain Marvel. Kit Harington as Dane Whitman: A superhero who wields a sword. Additionally, Haaz Sleiman has been cast in an undisclosed role.
