Doctor Strange 2 loses Director Scott Derrickson.

Scott Derrickson won’t be directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Derrickson revealed Twitter that he stepped down as the Doctor Strange director due to creative differences with Marvel Studios. However, he will remain on board as the film executive producer.

Scott directed the first Doctor Strange film released in 2016. The film grossed over $677 million worldwide and was well received by fans and critics alike. Doctor Strange 2 is scheduled to start filming in 2021. Parts of the movie will be set in the 80s. Lord Nightmare, one of the first Doctor Strange major enemies and ruler of a Dream Dimension, will be the villain in the Doctor Strange sequel.

Benedict Cumberbatch will reportedly make an appearance in Disney PLus’s WandaVision series. Nightmare is also said to be the main antagonist of the show. The WandaVision series begins broadcast this year.
