Marvel Studios could be looking to switch things up following the departure of Scott Derrickson from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to reports, the studio is currently looking to cast two villains.
Marvel has a casting call for a 30s-40s female open ethnicity villain and one is a 30s-40s African-American villain. Discussing Film reporting that the female villain could possibly be Lilith or a new version of Morgan Le Fay. The African-American will likely be the film version of Lord Nightmare, previously confirmed by Derrickson before stepping down as the film director.
The filmmaker released a statement on Twitter today that he stepped down as Doctor Strange 2 director due to creative differences. Scott directed the first Doctor Strange film released in 2016. The film grossed over $677 million worldwide and was well received by fans and critics alike.
Doctor Strange 2 is scheduled to start filming in 2021. Parts of the movie will be set in the 80s.
