Sources says Warner Bros. and DC Comics allegedly envisaging to bring Doctor Fate in the big screen. A source tells We Got This Covered that a story is reportedly in “place” and the movie will be a two-part with first half being a period piece and the second half will be set in the modern day
According to the source, WB and DC plans to introduce Golden Age heroes and later on the Justice Society of America in the big screen in order to swift the attention from the fiasco that was the Justice League. Doctor Fate doesn’t seem like a bad move to launch the new Universe following Marvel’s success with Dr.Strange and the similarities between the two fictional characters. Warner Bros. and DC Comics allegedly considering an actor color between the age of 30 to 40 to take on the titular role.
Doctor Fate, a sorcerer, has appeared in various incarnations. The original version of the character was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Howard Sherman, and first appeared in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940). The most known incarnation of the character is Kent Nelson the co-founder of the Justice Society Of America.
