The manga series is expected to return On October 16th.

MANGA Plus has announced that One Piece will be taking a two weeks break for Issues #44 and #45. Another update revealed that Eiichiro Oda’s sudden illness is the reason behind the manga series delay. The manga will resume back in Issue #46 presumably on October 16th with a Cover & Lead Color Page.

Oda recently revealed that he intends to end One Piece manga in four or five years after the 35th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed back in August that the series was approaching its final arc. The mangaka also said he already knows One Piece’s ending. Oda also revealed that his goal is to reach 1,000 One Piece manga chapters by the End of 2020.

Eiichiro Oda launched One Piece manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on July 19, 1997. Toei Animation premiere the anime show adaptation of the manga in 1999, in Japan. The Hollywood television show adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga series will start shooting in Cape Town, South Africa, this September. The series will be a partnership production between Tomorrow Studios, Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios. The One Piece currently has more than 470 million copies in print worldwide.

Publishing a weekly series really take a huge toll on the writer having to deliver quality stories week-in and week-out. SIU announced recently that he will stop working on Tower of God series due to physical and mental health issues.
