Reports suggesting that Peter Capaldi ( Doctor Who ) and Pete Davidson ( Saturday Night Live) are allegedly in talks to star in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad movie. However, no details about their roles have been made public.
The Suicide Squad first table read is expected to take place on September 11th with principal photography expected to officially commence on September 23. The film is set to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
Thor: Love and Thunder’s Taika Waititi is in negotiations for a role in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad movie. He played the character Korg in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame. Waititi is set to direct Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
Capaldi and Davidson will join Steve Agee (King Shark), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg cast in an unnamed role, Nathan Fillion cast in an undisclosed role and Idris Elba will allegedly play Bronze Tiger. Other rumored cast includes John Cena as Peacemaker and Michael Rooker as King Shark. Benicio del Toro is allegedly in talks to play the role of the main antagonist known as The General. In addition, Thor: Love and Thunder’s director Taika Waititi is in negotiations for a role in the movie as well.
The first Suicide Squad movie grossed $745 million worldwide, with an all-star cast consisting of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne.
